Who do I contact if my student is going to be absent or late?
Email hs-attendance@lrei.org and cc: your student’s advisor or call the High School Front Desk at 212-477-5316.
What are the hours of the school day?
School begins at 8:45am and ends at 3:20pm. Students arriving after 8:45 are considered late. Ninth graders must remain on campus during the school day. Later in the year, the grade typically earns the opportunity to leave the building for lunch.
Who do I contact if I have questions about financial aid ?
Contact Michele Blackwell, Director of Financial Aid and Associate Director of High School Admissions, 212-477-5316 or mblackwell@lrei.org.
Who do I contact if my student is having trouble in a particular class or if I am concerned about a particular grade?
Contact your student’s advisor. They will both be able to answer your questions and determine the best way to help your student find success. You are also welcome to contact teachers directly, but please cc: your student’s advisor.
Who do I contact if I have general concerns or questions?
Always contact the Advisor first, followed by the Grade Dean. The Advisor knows your child best and will be able to answer specific questions. The Grade Dean knows the grade best and will be able to answer questions about the grade as a whole.
How do conferences work? How do I schedule them and who is supposed to attend?
Conferences take place in the Fall and the Spring and you will receive an email that invites you to sign up online in advance of the conference. Our conferences are student-led, which means that your student, rather than the advisor, will lead the conference. Families do not meet with every individual teacher during Family/Advisor conference days; the advisor is aware of the student’s holistic school picture as well as their progress in each class.
I have more questions! I need more details!
Reach out to High School Principal, Amanda Finigan, afinigan@lrei.org or 9th grade Dean, Charlene Cruz-Cerdas, ccruzcerdas@lrei.org.
