On our spaceship the sharks are the humans.

On our spaceship the minnows are the animals

On our spaceship the seaweed is the plants

The humans can´t eat all the animals or the humans will die, and the animals can eat all the plants or the animals will die. Most things on the ship or either herbivores or omnivores so we don´t need a lot of meat on our ship. The animals are the hardest thing to balance because they and they are eaten.
