We studied Immigration this year and Kai’s Journey to Gold Mountain was about immigration. Kai was a Chinese boy and was coming to America in the 1930s and Dan and Jen told us to write a poem about how he was feeling on the boat.

They’re two maps because one we did bak in September and one we did in june. We did that because in the beginning we didn’t know so much about maps but now when we did it we did.

The statue of Liberty was very important to most people but some it wasn’t. It was the sine of hope and dream. Some people did not like it because too many people were immigrating and that was not good. Emma Lazarus made a poem to try to make more people like the Stature she named it The New Colossus.

My name is Xander. I went in my grandfathers attic and found so many cool things. I found a chest, doll, a graphic novel, and a letter. I felt proud of him that he did all these things I think thats cool. I think its important to learn about the past because its good to learn about how other people liked a long time ago.
