First Post: Immigrant persona made into a doll
Huzzah! I am an official blogger now! Today we received our personal blogs at school. My first post will include a picture of my immigrant doll. We made these dolls because we have been studying immigration this year in fourth grade. The process of making these dolls was very hard because there were a lot of steps to make them. First we took newspaper that was wrapped around wire and made into a the shapes of legs, arms and a head. Then we wrapped more newspaper around the limbs and head to make it like a body. After that we used papier maché on them and the maché was really gooshy and fun to work with. After that we gave them clothing out of little squares of cloth. We gave them wigs out of yarn and then painted their faces. Some people (me) made tiny trunks to fit their immigrant doll’s size. We made labels so people would know who’s doll was who’s. My immigrant’s name is Sibina Moore she comes from Ireland. I thought this project was really awesome because we worked really hard and for a really long time to make these dolls and once we were done I was really proud of myself.
