HONY Creative Writing Piece Final Draft

Revision is different from editing because when you revise you can be removing or adding large chunks of your story. You could be adding a character or a completely different scene! Editing is when you are fixing smaller things such as grammar and spelling mistakes.

The revision goal I had for my piece was to explain more about the characters and overall plot of my story. A lot of things were not clear such as the title of the story, “The fire.” Was there a fire? It was not that clear. Also, the friend I was always talking about (who’s name is now Brian) had no name. He was also always talked about in very cryptic ways. I think that I did pretty good with my goal because now everything I say in my story is clear and you can follow the plot much easier than before I started revising.
