As you know us humans make a lot of waste. Sadly, this waste is getting into the ocean and killing sea life. But, did you know that it is also laying on remote beaches? On Henderson Island which is so remote that the nearest humans are 120 miles away, was considered as a UNESCO heritage site. This was because the lack of human interaction. But, in 2015, 53,100 different pieces of garbage were found on the island. Most of it was under the sand so as bad as the pictures may look, it is worse. This is importasnt to us because we need this planet to support us. If we don’t limit our garbage than this world will not be suitable for anyone to live in. Especially at our school where we try to limit the waste we put out as we have compost and recycling.
