News October 31st spooky

There is much to be learned about the martian planet and after the recent discovery of liquid water, scientist’s hearts have skipped a beat. ExoMars 2016 which was launched by European and Russian space agencies, will check for any amount of some gasses in the martian atmosphere. In ExoMars 2016 there is The Trace Gas Orbiter which will measure water vapor, nitrogen oxides, and acetylene levels. These gasses just mentioned each make up less than 1% of the martian atmosphere. This will then produce subsurface maps of hydrogen which may help find deposits of ice. The Trace Gas Orbiter is scheduled to operate until at least 2022. These gasses such as methane, could further the hope that there is live on Mars. If the project finds methane it may prove helpful for further studies in Saturn’s moon Titan. Titan has methane seas and scientists believe that liquid is needed for live and before, only thought life could be from liquid water. Though, methane and oxygen make a pretty good home for life. Though this probe will find some important information for scientists, its main purpose is to prepare for a rover that will land on the planet predicted in April 2021.
