Shabanu Portrait

I am someone who has big goals in life. I don’t want to just be a housewife. I want to be the person that I want to be. I am a nomad that lives in the desert in Pakistan.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A BABY CAMEL

I saved a camel. Now the baby camel thinks that I am his mother because I am the first person he ever saw. It can get very annoying when a camel keeps on following you around and nudging you constantly. Here are some steps to help you:

  • Step one: When he gets a little nudging or starts acting weird, you have to give him milk. Babies rely on their mother’s milk so I have to get milk and give it to him. Any kind of milk will do. He thinks it is the same thing.
  • Step two: Bathing. Bathing is hard because he just wants to get out and run around just like a dog, but the problem is, he is a lot bigger. So what you do is hold him down without hurting him and scrub him with a brush with soap on it. When you are done, take him out and wrap him in a huge blanket. Then he will dry off in no time because it is very warm outside.

Those are all my tips for helping a baby camel.

HOW TO SAVE A CAMEL

I hear a scream. I run over to the place where I hear the scream and I see one of my camels is giving birth. She is pushing and pushing but just then, a snake bites her. So now she is dying so I run over there and just pray that she keeps on breathing so I can pull the baby out. I am feeling super scared. I am thinking, What if I mess up and he dies? So I take a deep breath and focus on what is happening. I finally see the legs, and without hurting the newborn, I try to pull him out. After a while of me trying to pull him out, a vulture takes an eye out of the dying mother and then she is dead, but that doesn’t stop me. I pulled and pulled and finally he came out. I am relieved that it worked and proud that I saved a camel’s life.

Guild Refelection

Last nights guild experience was amazing. I was in the Arms and Armors guild. I loved it because I loved showing off my trebuchet. A lot of people were amazed when it actually shot. I once hit the wall and it was awesome.  Also our guild once had 30 people. I got a little nervous for the first show but all the others I was feeling great and confident. Something that was surprising was how many people were at our knighting ceremony!! I thought it was a great experience to see others peoples guilds. I saw the stonemasons, artisans and butchers bakers candle stick makers. Overall I really enjoyed it!!

Muscular System

The muscular system helps you move. It has tendons that connect the muscle to the bone. The muscular system closely interacts with the skeletal system because it has some of the same pieces. Another fun discovery that we made was that all of our body parts that we worked on individually connected in the muscular system. Our question is, “Can muscles ever control themselves instead of waiting for the brain’s signal?”

Group song work

https://player.vimeo.com/video/212233800

Composing this song was fun because I really enjoyed working with the people in my group. During this performance, we were a little bit off tempo from each other; I thought if we had a few more practices it would sound a lot better. It was cool that each person brought something to the band. I would like to do more of this. We based our song off “Hot Cross Buns.”

Something meaningful I did this break was…

Something meaningful I learned this break about myself was that I am very helpful and flexible about doing anything. I would help out by taking care of my little cousins when there parents were doing something else. My ca delis was how the grownups were working really hard and I felt bad so I wanted to help by volunteering to watch the kids while they go to the beach. I was flexible by if somebody was doing one thing that I really wanted to do but another thing needed my help I would go to the one that needed my help because I didn’t was them to get stuck. One goal that I have is that if somebody is having trouble with caring something I would help, same with work or anything. Also if somebody needed help with something during recess and nobody helped them I would be flexible and help. I learned how helpful and flexible I can be.

Robotics

In Robotics, we had to design a robot and make it do all these different challenges that were progressively difficult. One of my favorite challenges along the way was to pick up a toy bee and pig and bring them back to base. We completed the challenge after a couple of tries! I’ve learned that in Robotics, you have to put a lot of effort and focus into it, and you might not succeed on your first try, but if you keep on trying and put your mind together with your teammates, then eventually you’ll figure it out.

Science: Cellular Representation

This was my project with Xander. We tested a lot of people, seeing if they ate breakfast, didn’t eat breakfast, or ate an unhealthy breakfast. We timed them when they were running and see how much the time was before they got tired. We graphed the data, and then we saw that eating a healthy breakfast helps you have more energy later in the day. This project was really fun because it was fun to run with them at the park while timing them. I also learned that I should now start eating healthy breakfasts!

Art 10-Circle Grid Project

This is my art piece. What we had to do was draw our design on a 10-circle grid, then cut out our different shapes, and then put it back together in any design that you want. My design was to make a diamond, and then put an R in it. The top one is complete, and the bottom one is half. I liked this project because I liked using the X-acto knife to cut out all the shapes.
