Summer Learning-Building Our Tree House

Me and my sister have been building a tree house upstate.

Last Joist

In this picture Gwen and I are measuring the angle for the last joist. It is critical to have a joist on any building with a deck or floor. Since our tree house is in a triangle on 3 trees, the joists (since they go horizontally and across from left to right) they will have to be cut on an angle. We are measuring the angle. After we do that, we cut it, and then we nail it in. I have gotten much better at nailing.

Nailing in joist

Next, we will be nailing in the decking. After that, we will make a railing. It is more like a tree-deck-hangout spot. It will not have walls or a roof. We might make a roof, on the tree but not walls. We are not sure yet. We are planning on making a zip line, and a fire pole, and a swing! We have been learning a lot, and been having lots of fun!
