The percent of Americans who said they would definitely be voting in the 2016 election is 69%. The percent of americans who said they would definitely be voting in the 2012 election was 76%. There are many reasons people don’t vote. 17.5% of the reasons that people don’t vote is because they have a busy or conflicting schedule. 14.9% is because of disability’s or illnesses. 13.4 % is because they are not interested and 12.9% is because they did not like the candidates or campaign issues. The rest is because of Registration problems, Transportation problems, they forgot, they were out of town, they don’t know, or inconvenient polling places. I think that this is important to know so we can encourage more people to vote in future elections.
