This summer was super fun. This summer I did so many new things. I went to the beach, I went waterskiing, I made friends, I swam (a lot) and so many other things. I also learned how to do a lot of things this summer. I learned how to make disappearing marshmallows, I learned how to waterski. I learned how to make a bowl on the wheel in pottery and more. Something I liked to do when I was waiting for my turn to waterski was watch other people do it. They did really cool tricks like lifting one of their legs. Some people would start out with two skis but then kick one off and then put their foot on the other ski so that they were skiing with one ski. Some people didn’t even waterski, they wake boarded. Not only did I learn to do a lot of things this summer but I also read a lot. One day I went to the book store and someone recommended I read the land of stories so I bought the first two. When I was at sleep away camp I met a girl named Elena. It turns out that she was obsessed with the the Land of Stories series and as soon as I started the books I couldn’t put it down. I wrote to my parents and asked them to send me the other two and they did. I also had convinced my friend Ro to read it and I let her borrow my books. Soon she loved it as much as I did. Then when I thought it couldn’t get any better it did because Elena told us the fifth book was coming out so on parent visiting day my parents brought it for me. This summer I didn’t only go to sleep away camp I also went to day camp. At day camp things were different. You choose to do a morning activity which is for two weeks and an afternoon activity which is one week. For my morning activity I chose theater. For the first couple of days we did acting games and other things that taught us things about acting. But later we started to work on a play. They gave us an idea about what the play was about. It was about Broadway being shut down and the Broadway actors trying to get it back. When we got our parts everyone was so excited. I got the part of Peggy from Hamilton. It was so fun to do. Everyday I couldn’t wait to practice it again.

I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed acting camp, Julia. Do you think you will audition for the middle school play this fall? I’m very impressed with your waterskiing skills; I tried to wakeboard several times and I could never figure out how to do it!
