Medieval Pageant

On 4/19/17, we had our Medieval Pageant for our guilds. I was in the Arms and Armor guild and we presented in the auditorium. For the first group, I was a little bit nervous because I had to host and describe my chess project but it turned out good and the rest of the tours went smoothly. At the end of the third tour, we were going to get knighted. We all lined up near the wall and Dan knighted us with a copy of the Dragon Sword which is the old sword that Kings knighted people with. I went to the Stonemason’s guild and saw Andrei and Matias and they were spectacular. They added facts about their topic while having a heated argument.

 

Muscular System

The muscular system helps you move. It has tendons that connect the muscle to the bone. The muscular system closely interacts with the skeletal system because it has some of the same pieces. Another fun discovery that we made was that all of our body parts that we worked on individually connected in the muscular system. Our question is, “Can muscles ever control themselves instead of waiting for the brain’s signal?”

 

             

 

Chess Strategies

My long game vs Charlie that I came out on top.

A strategy I have is I can make people come into traps that I win piece wise. An issue I have as a strategist is that I should probably look over the moves ahead of me more thoroughly so I can end the game quicker. I won all of my games but I have played chess before so I might of had an advantage. It was a lot of fun and I’m grateful that Larry and Dan took us.

Chess and Battle Tactics Compared

In chess, you draw up a plan according to the situation in front of you and in Battle you do the exact same. There’s defensive and offensive strategies, and each person has a different strategy. It’s the same in battle. There’s kings who are the leaders in battle and if a king gets taken in chess, you lose. Knights have their own special movement that no one else has.

Arms and Armor Battle Training

I think this was a good first try. I could of done better now that I know some tricks. First of, I should of taken out all of the men on the rear. I learned that the archers shoot first before you send melee attackers to wear down the army. You stop shooting when you melee attack because you don’t want to take out your own men. I would like to study being part of the cavalry because I think I understood their role easily than the rest. I can’t wait to do this again.

Everything is Connected.

If you breath carbon dioxide, it goes into to a tree and the tree gives out oxygen. A tree is kinda like a working filter, you put something dirty in and something clean comes out. It’s what we did in class. We made filters and a tree is an air filter. A tree needs sunlight to work and can’t stay alive forever but without trees being a filter, we might not be alive.

Shark Tank Simulation

This is a spreadsheet that we made in class when we were doing a simulation. The simulation was called The Shark Tank simulation and that is where you start of with a certain number of sharks, minnows and seaweed. Each minnow needs to eat 1 seaweed to live, 2 seaweed to reproduce. The shark needs to eat 2 minnows to live, 4 to reproduce. The seaweed need to stay alive for the whole round (30 seconds) to reproduce. I think that it’s a good way to get a sense of populations in nature but I think that the results will be different if you did this simulation for real life.

Big Bang Video

GO AND WATCH THIS VIDEO IF YOU WANT TO SEE SOMETHING EXPLODE! (***

One accuracy that we had was that it did explode and an inaccuracy that we had was the Big Bang wasn’t that slow and it wasn’t Coke. The Big Bang exploding was faster than the speed of light. Ours was just as fast as a turtle walking.
