This is one of my favorite sketches because while I was drawing it I felt like I took my time and made sure it was how I wanted it to end up as and it did. Also, @duhitzmark is my favorite social media influencer…
One of my favorite art pieces is my perspective water color. The reasoning to that is because before I didn’t know how to perspective draw and then I learned and thought it was cool. When we got to the water coloring part you had to pick a color and stick into that colors scheme. If you couldn’t tell my color was to stay in the blue scheme. Some parts of my water color has some purple but to be honest I thought that the color was close enough to blue. One thing that I would do if I had more time would be to sit down and try to make different shades of blue. Also, by doing that I think I could have different shades of blue and make it not all the same color. First we started drawing it out with pencil, then went to water color, next you had the option of using color pencil if you wanted in your piece. Here’s a picture of my final water color:
Perspective drawing for me has kind of been hard because I like to get every line “perfect”. I’ll be honest I’m a perfectionist and I keep trying until I get it the way I like it. The hardest part for me would be just going on and not to take thousands of hours trying to get one line right. That’s hard for me because I like to do my best and not give up.
Another art project we are doing is drawing the street! One class, we went out and sat on the sidewalk and we drew what we saw and the perspective… I think my drawing is going good so far. Down below is a picture of me working on it:
On the Sidewalk Drawing
You can’t really see the drawing but, all I have on the paper are the buildings on the side and a lamp post. It’s not a lot because I kept redoing the lamp post… That’s a little bit of what was happening with my street drawing art piece.
When we started our perspective drawing unit we did this shape thing where we drew a five sided shape and connected it with lines coming from this point on the middle of the paper and then earased them when they connected. Then it turned out into a nice 3d shape! When we were finishing our last classes working on the shape work we moved onto our street drawings. By doing the shape piece before we did our street drawings helped me because we were getting the idea how to perspective draw.
I would say the hardest thing transitioing from the shape work to the street work would be getting the buildings and the surrounding objects lined up so it would all look 3d and not mixed up from having a five sided shape and connecting the lines. The reason is because with the street drawing you have tons of things to draw that have to be lined up with everthing to make it the same art technique.
I am really enojoying this art unit we are doing because I am learning a lot from it. Playing around with the shapes and buildings can be fun when your making it 3d/perspective drawing.
This is a reflection of my Zoetrope that I made in art. A Zoetrope is an animation, (kind of) because when you put it in a circular paper thing you spin it and it looks like your drawing is doing something like an action. Here are two pictures of my Zoetrope down below!
I learned while making the Zoetrope how to properly color in white spaces without making it look scratched up and bad looking. I don’t think this is my best work because I made people throwing up rainbows and I was coloring in the blank spaces beautifully and then I got a little sloppy at the end of my work.
