Reflection
At my sleep away camp in Colorado we had to sleep in covered wagons. Since they were very open, we couldn’t have anything that had a scent. I also learned about “leave no trace” which means you can’t leave any thing in the wild that you brought there. I also learned how cold it was with only fabric for walls. In my wagon we had a very friendly chipmunk who liked our light. We had a light hanging from the top of our wagon. The chipmunk would climb in and hug our light and not let go.
The activities we did at my camp were also very interesting. One of my favorites was white water rafting. It is really scary at first, because you only have your feet tucked in so you can paddle. You get that feeling that you do when you’re on a roller coaster and you’re doing the really fast and scary part.
Over the weekend, my family and I went to a lake where you could do water sports. My favorite was stand up paddle boarding. It is really fun. You are standing on this board like a surf board and you have to paddle. But the hard thing is you have to balance the board and you have to switch the paddle from side to side to keep going straight.
