My favorite project that we did this year in art class was the map project. It was my favorite because we got to choose what we wanted to do as long as we used the map. I made it mt favorite project because I kept having ideas and it made it better and better.

This is my final map project:

The name is Flying Over NYC. I choose that name because the bird is flying over the city. I created a seen that is kind of like out side of my house. Something I like about it is that there is a only one bird and one girl and they are kind of lonely and the lone bench at near the tree. Something that I don’t like about it is how the bird is attached I think if I had made it smaller it could be in the tree.

In art class we are doing a project with subway maps. We were aloud to choose what we wanted to make a long as it had to do with NYC. I choose to make a pigeon! I see them everyday and I thought that since they’re everywhere that would be a good choice. I started out by drawing the shape of the pigeon out on a piece of foam board three times. Then using an exact-o knife I cut them out. After that I glued them together to make the pigeon thicker. Then I cut the same shape out of the map and glued it on top. I got more foam board and cut out the wing and bend the tip so it would flap out. I used clear tape to holed the wing on. I put black paper on the wing and two stripes of map. Then I cut out the beak from orange paper and glued that on. With a little extra piece of map I cut out two strips and rolled them up and taped them. Then on one end of each I cut three little marks and pulled them down to make feet. I taped the legs to the bird. I’m not sure what else I’ll do! I might make more or have the bird flying but I’m open for idea’s!

In art we made geometric patterns. First they we got a piece of paper that had a pattern on it then wen had to use color to make our in pattern on it. After that we cut out the shapes and mounted them.

I art we made illuminated letters.

One thing that I really like about mine is that I have a seen shown but you don’t see all of it because they have to fit in the R. One thing I don’t like about it is that I choose black for the aback round it looks kind of sad.
