When I was younger, like most kids, I hated math. Sometimes I would think the counting books were the best thing but when it came time for the equation, I didn’t have a clue or care in the world. I think a math disaster might have been in 1st grade when they asked us what half of 9 was and I said 5. In my head, everybody got really mad at me but in real life, nobody even cared. They just called on someone new.
My math success was only from last year but it was a good one. Both my teacher and I thought I was really falling behind. I didn’t really have much hope for my work. Once we got our first big test back I was super happy to see a four. I was really proud of myself for pushing and proving myself and my teacher wrong.
I like math because it makes feel accomplished when I finish a problem that was once extremely hard but now is not. I dislike math because sometimes it takes a lot of time and I wouldn’t really label myself as patient. I think I’m an okay math student. I good at the problems and the stuff on paper, I’m just not great at sharing that stuff.
