Egg fruit in Peru

When I visited Peru with my class on the last day we went to the market. This market sort of resembled what we know as a flea market. While we were traveling through the market we stopped by one man’s fruit stand. While we were there we were looking at many fruits that he sold. Some of them being star fruit, small bananas, and egg fruit. The egg fruit earned its name because it has an outer shell that is like an egg and if you putt enough pressure on it, it will crack. Inside are giant seeds that are surrounded by a clear gel-like substance. It is very sweet and when we tried it we were surprised that we liked it.
