Math Scale factor homework

So for this assignment, we had to figure out which figures are similar. You see that on the first page we had figures z,t,y,u,v,x and w. In order to complete this assignment, there were some rules that you needed to know about what makes certain shapes similar. The shapes need to have the same general shape. For example, a triangle and a parallelogram can’t be similar because they don’t have the same general shape. Another rule is that they have to have the same scale factor. This rule is probably the most important one because this is usually the one everyone pays attention to. If you were to try and find a shape that is similar to another then your first step might be Justin find the scale factor. Another rule is the corresponding angles must be congruent. So this also ties into the fact of same general shape. For a shape to have congruent angles it will most likely be the same shape. The pairs of similar shapes that I found were the following, y~w, v~z and t~z. On the next page, we had to find different shapes that either isn’t similar or they are similar. On the next page, I explained in more detail about why the shapes were similar or not. If I were to revise this homework I would explain in more detail about the first page and give more evidence for why it is similar.image1-1 image2 image1
