lesson learned!

The first day of third grade, I was going into my new class when I noticed a girl with bouncy brown curls and sienna colored skin. When I looked at her she seemed flustered like she was mad. Her expression was hard to read but I could make out two other emotions, confused and lost. Later I sat down and realized why she looked familiar… she was the girl that I had met my first day at LREI way back in kindergarten! Her name was Cloe,  me and Cloe never had really been good friends we actually didn’t like each other we were so different in so many ways.

Every time I looked at her for the rest of the day she had the same expression. I felt bad for her and whatever problem might be burdening her, But… she had never helped me so why help her. During recess I saw her sitting by herself on the floor. As soon as I saw her my mind flashed back to that one day on the roof In kindergarden when I met milei, who is my best friend. I had been taking a break from running and noticed Milei from afar in the green box.I had helped her and we had become friends and we had went through everything and how it had changed us for ever.

As I came back to the here and the now I came back to what was at hand, I had a decision to make go and say something or leave her alone to ponder the unone. I went over to her deciding that no one should have to be alone like Milei had been .Then as I walked over and said”hello, do you need some help” She looked up at me and said” no its fine I don’t need your help”

I had sighed and sat next to her . As the year wore on me and cloe became friends as we came closer and closer, Milei, Cloe and me were best friends by the end of the year.

I have realized that helping is not a good deed but something everyone should know. It can help people and open them to a perspective and you have to take a risk or you will never know. I’ve seen in movies and heard in books of people understanding their enemy and their actions and helping them. and becoming friends with their enemy and have changed the story from Hero wins to person. This is a very important lesson to now because 99% of the time people have a reason for what they did.
