I think the outline template helped a lot because it gave a basic perspective of what your essay would look like. I feel like this essay was a lot more easier visually then the giver essay because of the format we were starting at. But I also think that mainly because of the format differences. The format of this essay was a lot more clearer and made my work look much neater and less scrambled. Also because of it being separated and organized I feel like that way I could see my mistakes a lot clearer. The format helped with editing a lot too. Overall I really liked the format and the different steps to doing this essay.

Introduction of Theme (I): Power represented a lot about who you were as a person in these three different eras. In the crucible, the court held a lot of power. Because they held a lot of power they were in control of everything. In the Mccarthy era it showed Mccarthy mis using his power by making false statements and scapegoating others. In modern day there have been examples of marginalizing others.

Taking some books: My, they’re heavy! HALE, setting down his books: They must be; they are weighted with authority.” ( The Crucible, 58)
Analysis (A): This quote shows how much Hale misuses his power into being egocentric. He shows how powerful he is through his books since in the 1690’s, books or knowledge were maybe represented as extensive and had loads of potential. So in other words knowledge in general represented power.
