My first composition
This is my melody. It is still in progress. I have one B section in green. I also have an A section. My instruments are Violin, Clarinet and Flute.
Graph of Population
This is my graph. At the start the population barely grows. It is because people were traveling and they didn’t really have any settlements. Then it grows quickly because people had stopped moving and there was settlements. At the end it drops because of all our wars. It also drops because people are dying more than populating. It surprised me a lot when we learned that at 80,000 B.C.E. there was only 5,000,000 people because I thought there was a lot more. I forgot about the people moving.
Chronology
On Friday we got index cards of events that happened in the last 13.7 billion years. We had to put our events in chronological order. Our Group had trouble deciding to put the moon being created before when the rain cooled down The Earth. We figured it out because we remembered that when the astroid hit earth, the world was all lava. Because we did that we learned which one went first. We were right.
My Atom
This is my atom. The ball in the middle in the atom’s center. That is where the hydrogen is. There is a ring that goes around it.The ring is supposed to have a gap in it. The energy in the ring goes around and then skips over one spot. The spot changes.
Observations on Running Problem Graphs
In problem one I notice that two graphs look the same and one is different. The last one could go in C. If it had the lines connected. They have to be connected because the runner was still running in between the graph. The one at the bottom of the board in C starts at the halfway point. All of the problems start at the start so that one does not fit anywhere. The graph at the bottom of the board at B does not stop for 6 seconds. It also does not start at the start. The one in C in the second row to the right does not start at the start. So it does not fit anywhere.
The Planner
I think that the planner should be a binder. The inside has clips in it that can clip folders in it. It should also have a planner clipped in. It would be a blank white planner that we can design. It also has an area for your flashcards. One side of the binder is a whiteboard. The cover and back is a whiteboard too.
Ashokan
The place where all fifth and sixths grades go. The place about two hours away from school, but must be longer because of how different it was from here. The place where you do a lot of hiking. Is that good or bad? The first day we went on a hike. The second day we did a long hike to a scene where we pretended where it was in the early 1800s. Then we hiked back. We learned about water bugs, but had to hike to get there too. Now I personally liked it, but that is just me. What was the best part? Now that is hard to answer. The food, awesome. The activities, well that mattered what type of person you are. Everyone had different ideas. In the end, most people liked it. It was an experience that changed everyone. Like the electric squeeze. No squeeze circle will ever be the same. Now to rap up all my ideas, Ashokan is a great place with amazing opportunities.

Welcome to your brand new digital portfolio/blog at blogs.lrei.org!
Your portfolio can be used for many things through out your middle and high school years, including:
- Documenting and reflecting on your learning, passions, and interests, both in and out of school
- Curating and highlight work for your Family Conferences
- In some instances, your teachers will ask you to submit, reflect and comment on work in this portfolio
It is our hope that you also seek to make this a personally relevant learning space in which you curate work that is important and meaningful to you. As you build this learning space, we also hope that you will use it as a way to connect with other learners in the LREI community and beyond.
Your LREI account (Mail, Docs/Drive) credentials will automatically get you into your blog. Here are a few things you’ll want to take a look at:
1. Change the name of your blog. To do this, go back to the Dashboard and click on the “Home” symbol, then on “MS Digital Portfolio Template” under “This Blog.”
In the field for “Site Title,” add a new title. You can use your first name if you want (e.g., “Mark’s Digital Portfolio”), but don’t use your first and last name. You can also create a title that doesn’t have your name in it. Be as creative as you want, but keep in mind that the title should relate to the purpose of the portfolio.
After you’ve added a new title, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
2. Add a Post
For the most part, you’ll be adding items to your blog as posts. To add a new post, you can click on the +New button in the top bar of your blog, and then select “Post.”
You’ll want to give each post a title, and assign it to a Category. These categories are broken down by class and grade (e.g., fifth grade, core, etc.). This will allow you to organize and sort information so that you can control the look and feel of your blog. If you take a look at the menu bar under the blog title, you see the different groups of categories (e.g., class, grade, teacher, etc.).
When you’re done with your post you can click “Publish” on the side to make the post appear on your blog
