汉堡薯条好,

华夫饼煎饼很好,

生姜水不好。

This is an example of one of my haiku's. It is in mandarin. During mandarin class on Thursday, April 28 we were told to make a haiku in mandarin or as we called it in mandarin a  五七五 meaning 5 7 5, and if you didn’t know a haiku has to have 5 syllables  in the first line 7 in the second and 5 in the last. For my haiku I decided to make it about things that I liked so mine is about food. If I were to translate what mine says it would be.

Burgers fries good,

waffle pancakes very good,

ginger water not good.

Who the Heck are you

In Humanities we are in the middle of a project called Who the Heck are You. For this project we were supposed to choose somebody that we were interested in interviewing. For my interview I chose our family friend Spike Mancheski who is a pilot. The reason I chose this person is because I was very interested in what he does for a living.

I am still in the process of conducting the interview, but before conducting the interview we had to do something else. Since we didn’t know if we could absolutely interview this person, we had to send them a hand-written letter. Once we got the confirmation that we could interview them, we had to come up with interesting question to ask during the interview. Tomorrow I am going to be conducting the interview. After I conduct the interview I will right up a entry about what I learned from Spike in the interview.

Beowulf

This year in humanities we studied the med evil era. We read a book called Beowulf. It is an old epic poem. It is about a hero. When we were reading the book we head to annotate. That means we had to underline important parts, circle and define vocabulary and write a chapter summary. Annotating is important because it helps you look back in things that you can’t find if you didn’t annotate. I am very proud of my chapter summary’s because they help me understand what happened in the chapter without reading the chapter. I want to improve on defining vocab because there was a lot of words in the book I didn’t know.
