This is one of my best note cards.  I am proud of this note card, because I did this really well and got a high grade.  This note card will eventually help me write my paper, and I hope that the grade on my paper is similar to this grade.

Math Portfolio Post #1

The assignment for this check-up, was to say, if and why each of the shapes(triangles or rectangles) were similar. bThe way I completed it, was by looking at my notes from that day and the day before that, and then writing the answers for what I thought, down on the homework sheet.photo-on-11-1-16-at-7-46-pm-2photo-on-11-1-16-at-7-46-pm

Le Jour Des Toussaints

This first trimester in french, we dove into and started to use adjectives a lot more.  We had a test on adjectives and did lots of listening and writing activities focusing on it.  We wrote about Halloween characters, ghosts, vampires, clowns, fairies and witches.  For the characters, we added clothing and accessories, which we wrote about.  We had a couple of quiz’s and listening and writing activities on it.  For all of our tests and writing/listening activities we studied on quizlet, it was helpful, but I think that it would be easier to write out actual notecards.

Dear Rohan,

In this photo, I was working on the technique called hatching, which consists of drawing lines really close to each other, until it looks like a shadow, or full object.

Vocal Majors First Reflection

I feel that Vocal Majors so far is a little bit boring.  I feel that it is boring because we sing these very annoying songs that I don’t like, and I feel that I was put in the wrong spot in the vocal ranges.  I’ve learned that my voice is good.  I think that it is more melodic and learned.  Is this long enough?

Going Into Seventh Grade Book Post

IMG_3411IMG_3412IMG_3367IMG_3368IMG_3374image1image3image2IMG_3536IMG_3537IMG_3535It was very hard to choose which book was my favorite, my top three were:  The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith, and Jeffersons Sons by Kimberly B.B.

I love The Westing Game  for the mystery, strenuous intense adventures, the characters who would do anything to win the will, and the writing which will last through time and time again.

I love A Tree Grows In Brooklyn because it shows you how hard it was to live in the early 20th century.  It shows challenges from getting money & food, to deciding what job to get, to how to escape this group of  thugs.  It is an amazing novel of historical fiction that was written so well that you bask in they glory and cry with them.  Notes: they have to go out and sell scraps for coins, they have a money bank made of a can, they have no garnet for food in a day, their father only works every once in a while, the father is a singing waiter, mother cleans houses, children go to school and work stand up jobs.

The book Jeffersons Sons is a view of life in the eyes of the Hemings children.  Being the children of the slave Sally Hemings and the president Thomas Jefferson does not make it easy for them, for they are still slaves, and when they get free, they will have to change their name incase of disgrace.  The book appealed to me because I love history and this book is history based, but does not feel like a lecture.  You get to know the characters inside and out, their troubles, worries and feelings.

Poem #2

MY POEM

In the dark of night

I come out

I prey on fear.

While people scout

And tune their ears

So they might hear

My battle cry

Meow

My inspiration came out of how my sister went into a recent addiction to cats.  I do not think it is a certain kind of poem.  There is a little bit of rhyme in here.  I love how this poem turned out so much that I am reading it for the poetry breakfast.  I am proud of it because… I don know why- I just like it.

MY POEM:

There once was a fellow named bob

And he really was quite a slob

His wife once said,

“My god you’ll be dead,

If you don’t eat your corn on the cob!”

My inspiration behind this is Elijah, who made an almost identical piece.  It is a limerick poem.  This poem has line breaks, rythym, beat and rhyme.  I like how my poem turned out.  I am proud of it because it is catchy.
