Summer Reflection

I took the last few days of school off to go to California to go to my grandparents’ (who had both died this year) funeral. When I was there I saw my cousins who also live in California and farmed grapes for wine. After the funeral, we came back to Manhattan for a few days. We went upstate for a week, when our brother joined us for two more weeks up there. We were planning on one week but he got strep when we were about to go back. When he recovered, we went to the city for a week, and decided to get my father 2 kayaks. We already had a canoe for our pond, but we wanted more, thus, the kayaks. One week later, I went to camp with my friends in Maine for two weeks. When I got back my dad almost got arrested because they didn’t see me come off the plane and thought he kidnapped me! We stayed upstate for a week with the entire family and had a lot of fun. At the end of that week, my brother went back to college, followed by my sister on labor day. Then came the end of summer.

Family time!

During the summer I saw my and sister who had both gone to college. It was a great family reunion since I hardly get to talk to either of them, nor see them. So we had a great time with them both and it was hard saying goodbye, but we knew that we could easily talk to each other, we talk and text as if we were in the same house!

Going to camp!

In the middle of summer I went to camp in Maine. It was called Hidden Valley. It was my first time going to any camp so I only went for two weeks. I went with Hudson, Wyatt, Ben, and made friends at camp too!

Horse riding!

During the summer I learned how to ride a horse. My horse was named Beeswax because she was honey colored. I was taught upstate in the Catskills by someone named Corrie. Not many people came there so I felt like Beeswax was my horse.  By lesson 4 I could already canter, almost every time we do something different. I’m learning new things fast.IMG_2337 (1)
