Arabian Nights

While the king of Riyadh is asleep with his wife, Alda, the angel Gabriel comes to him and says, “It is your time to go Adel.” The wise king woke up with his wife and said, ”I’ve had a great life. Thank you for all my wealth and enjoyment but I understand it is my time to go.” His wife is astonished that he is so understanding and okay with this. Alba said to the angel, “Listen to his story. After you hear this you will let him live. Give me one night and I will explain it all.”

Adel was fishing with his net. Every time the net hit the water it would splash his face and feel so cool from the dry desert heat. Across the water he saw someone fishing in a boat catching a lot of fish. He marveled at how many fish the man caught and how fancy his clothes were while doing such hard work. Adel’s clothes were ragged cloth that his mother had sewn together with the little thread she had. He finally caught a fish. As he’s walking home he sees a man without a home dying from the desert heat. He rips his fish in half and gives the bigger half to the homeless man.

When he gets home his mother tells him that the king is dying soon. There will be a contest to see who is the most powerful man. He says to his mother, “I would like to enter the contest. Can I enter?”

“I’m sorry. You could get hurt. Also there is a fee to participate.”

If Adel couldn’t compete he at least wanted to see the contest. He walked toward the arena. He heard people cheering already. THE CONTEST HAS BEGUN. By the time he got there fiveteen people have gone. Adel heard that the contest was fighting a monster. When he got to the gate the guards saw him and said, “Where is your ticket?” Adel was mad. Why did everything cost so much money or any money at all? when he got to the other gate there were no guards but the gate was closed. He could not get in but he could see the fighter and the monster. The sixteenth fighter was huge. For a second Adel thought that he was the monster. He was as tall as a palm tree and his muscles had muscle. He was the perfect king to be. He was Abd-allah. Abd-allah and his men went to Persia and did an amazing quest. He was also very rich and amazingly handsome and all the teenage girls wanted to marry him. The monster he was fighting was a winged bull. It was huge and Adel had never seen anything like it. It’s wings were the same color as its body and it was so beautiful Adel didn’t know how he could fight that thing.

Then the guards saw him and took him to King Abu because he didn’t have a ticket. When Adel entered the palace the royal mark appeared on his hand. The old and dying king said while coughing, ”You have the royal mark! You’re my lost son! You are the new king!”

When the town heard this news they rejoiced and prayed to God that he would be a great king. Their praying worked. He was a great king and he loved his people. He gave to the poor every chance he could.

“Do you see? His story is amazing and I think you should let him live. But of course the holy angel Gabriel should have that last say.”

“Yes you and your wife may live happily ever after.”
