My name is Lars Olsen. I always enjoy a well written story, no matter the form. Whether it is a movie, tv show, or of course book. The structure of film is my favorite form for it allows me to take in many complete stories. Movies are a weekly event for me and my family, I tend to focus on every detail so they demand a lot of attention and are not a light commitment. That is why I wanted to dedicate my Senior Project time to focus on all the films I haven’t gotten to see before I go off to college. I believe that taste in film is not what defines quality, but two movies of equal quality should be ranked by taste. That is why every review site should be different.

My proposed project begins with the creation and design of a website. This is the base of operations for all work to come and will be made public immediately. Once I begin the project, I will start watching a new film nearly every day. I will jot down specific details while viewing and write a thorough review after finishing the film and gathering all my thoughts together. There will be a minimum of three new films a week, however, I will also be writing shorter reviews for many films I’ve seen prior to the project. This will give the site a bit more density for viewers. There is no end goal to this project and I will likely remain active on the website even post graduation. Each film posted on the website should reflect both a quality and style that I believe deserve to be watched. This will allow the website to be unique to my taste and differ from any others. 

This schedule is broken up only by community service and the day when we need to return to school for meetings. My service is a group project with many people in which we will help clean a park every Thursday. I haven’t done something like this in a few years so I am excited to help the community.

I have also signed up for a drama seminar on Wednesdays which will be very funny because I’m doing it with friends and we are all horrible actors. I’m always on the director’s side of film so this will be a very interesting experience.

I have a backup plan in case only focusing on film becomes tiring. If that happens, after a few weeks I will begin expanding the website to a wider variety of entertainment such as music reviews and TV reviews.  In the end, I believe the website will be something I really am proud of and will allow the viewer to gain a good sense of my taste.
