I think that senior project has lived up pretty well to my expectations. It has been a real learning curve for me in terms of learning how to manage my time and my work. I think that the experience itself is pretty on par with what I was expecting but it is a bit more difficult than I expected to find the self motivation. I think I have it down pretty well now at the end of the first week, but there was an adjustment period. I think that now that I understand how to manage my time and do my work, I have been very productive and learned a lot. 

I think that this past week, waking up and being at home, it was difficult for me to motivate myself to start working. However, once I began working it was very easy to continue with the work throughout the day. As I began working on my first presentation for Ali about the current state of gender equity in the music industry, I found it extremely interesting and found it relatively easy to be productive. I have really enjoyed this independent time, and being able to decide when I want to do my work throughout the day. 

I have discovered a lot about not only the present state of the industry, but also the extremely important work that can be done to make real change. I believe that this is knowledge I will be able to apply in the future in just about any industry. This is extremely important work that expands beyond the music industry. It can be practically applied to just about any field and hopefully develop equality in many other industries as well. I am excited and very happy to have this newfound knowledge which I can utilize throughout my college experience, and hopefully in my career. I feel extremely grateful to have the opportunity to learn about such important initiatives. 

I think that this past week has really shown me that this project is a lot about self motivation and the only person you can depend upon is yourself. When there is no one breathing down your back to get you to complete work, you really need to find a whole new sense of independence. I think that going forward I will have a greater understanding of what is expected of me and study habits which will allow me to be more productive with my time.
