I’m excited to announce the date of LREI’s first Tiny Desk Concert: May 21st at the LREI Library, 2pm and 6pm. The concert will be the final act of the Spring Festival of Plays, an event in which LREI actors and musicians perform in unconventional spaces outside of the PAC auditorium. People have performed in classrooms, hallways and even bathrooms. For this year’s Tiny Desk performance, the library will be transformed into an NPR-inspired venue, decorated with vinyls, bean bags and warm lighting to create a cozy atmosphere. I hope to create a space where the audience is comfortable, relaxed and immersed in the music. I want each musician, including myself, to shine and enjoy themselves.
I’m in the process of figuring out how many people can fit in the library at once, which will determine the number of audience members. If possible, I’d love to perform the concert live on Senior Project night – perhaps in the PAC or fifth floor terrace – for the the entire senior class and faculty to enjoy.
