    1. This book taps both the creative and experiential parts of my senior project, with the author talking both about his experience in the music industry and how he has created impactful music. The intended audience is people like me, young musicians who have a small scope of what it is like in the industry and the power that music actually holds. 
  1. Miller, Brandon. “What to Consider before Doing Music Internships.” IMusician, 8 July 2015, https://imusician.pro/en/resources/blog/music-internships-considerations. 
    1. This article goes into the different ways of approaching an internship in the music industry, and how to gain the most out of one. It targets young musicians who are either looking for an internship, which is helpful for my future endeavors and how to gain the most out of one that you are already in, which plays heavily into what my senior project is all about. 
    2. Diamond, Michael, and Adam Horovitz. Beastie Boys Book. Faber & Faber, 2020. 
      1. (Unfinished) This book documents the careers and lives of The Beastie Boys, a famous rap group from the 80s to 90s. It provides a glimpse into both the ways they entered the industry and their creative process for making music, which helps both my senior project and personal growth as an artist. This book is broader, targeting anyone who is interested in the group as a whole, but definitely provides a big enough glimpse into the industry part of their careers to be helpful to me. It is very long, so this might show up in a couple of my bibliographies.

    1. This article specifically gives advice for people in entry-level internships like mine. It gives insight from a person who has had many internships and jobs in the industry and has learned how to best utilize them for their advancement in both their career and artistic skill. It gives multiple perspectives and examples, and gives advice for each step of internships, getting them, working at them, and how to use it as a launching point for long after the internship. 
  1. Gee, Dustin. “5 Essentials of Music Career Success.” Berklee College of Music, 14 Aug. 2019, https://www.berklee.edu/careers/essentialsofsuccess.html.
    1. This article takes a broader lens than simply talking about internships. It discusses creating a sustainable career in the music industry, and how to correctly utilize opportunities, connections, and jobs you get along the way as a launchpad into your career. It gives good advice on the mentality you need going into a career like this, and what you should be looking to do in the early stages. It is targeted exactly at young musicians like me, especially with the internship I am doing now.
