Video Games and Leadership

For my senior project, I will be doing a video game theme which will have many different parts that all connect. I have always been interested in playing video games and it has been one of my biggest hobbies. It has fueled my creativity and allowed to me to become a leader and a better problem solver. Video games are always over looked as simple minded and stupid, which I dont believe it true. I want my project to be about how video games can be academic, rigorous, thought out, and fun The essential questions I will be asked are: How can I bring joy and spread creativity using video games? How can I be a leader? How can I take something fun and analyze it to become better?

These questions are just a start to what Im planning on doing. For my project Im going to be doing 4 different things. The 1st will be working with chronically ill children and playing video games with them. This will challenge my citizenship and courage. Working with kids like this will be hard, Im sure but it is important and will definitely make their day. I really cannot wait to be a leader to these kids and help make their days better, when maybe they were not the best. My second section will be having a tutor, this will go into critical thinking. My tutor will be teaching me how to play a really difficult, thought out game. This game is called League of Legends and requires and a lot of skill, patience, and thought. Apart of winning this game is critical thinking which a tutor will help teach me, when and what choices to make. my third and fourth section will be playing the video game and streaming it, this will be the creativity. Video games are meant to be fun and I want to have fun, so I will be streaming my game play and explaining why I made the choices that I made. Hopefully from learning from the tutor, I can use that knowledge on my own and improve. I will also be leading the esports team at LREI, which shows more leadership. This project will challenge me because it will force me to look at my hobby from an analytical way as-well and make me be a leader to younger people. I choose a game that was difficult and I have yet to play, so I can show how I progress through the 6 weeks. In the future I’m definitely  interested in doing something with computers and possibly video games, so this would be a step in the right direction for sure. My goals for this project are to get better at being a leader, push my analytical thinking, and to have fun !

yay!
