My essential question is how can I make art projects on healing, magic and spirituality? How does spirituality and healing connect to nature? How can we see our very own problems reflected in nature?
For my senior project, I want to make art projects that will cumilate into a photo book and a collaborative zine with writing, photography, art and interviews about personal healing and witchcraft.
I want to try “art therapy” and do different prompts everyday to journal, paint, draw or collage my feelings.
I am going to aim to spend time everyday in nature after spending almost all semester inside. I want to bring my camera and photograph the things that interest me. At the same time, I will journal about my experiences and later see if I can notice a difference in my overall health.
I would use my photography along with drawings and journal entries to make a photo book on nature & healing in NYC.
I want to learn about energy medicine, and brujerìa. I hope to be mostly outside while learning, being able to visit different parks in New York and work by journaling and reading. I also want to learn by visiting the library or museums or interviewing people in the city who have more knowledge on this. I want to try different types of alternative healing practices, such as transcendental meditation, Reiki healing and sound baths.
I think this is feasible as I already spend time meditating everyday and often journal and do yoga.
After my own personal journal of experiences, I will reach out to peers, friends, and people I’ve met in my journey and create a collaborative zine.
