Senior Project Idea #1
What I don’t and do want
- I don’t want to be inside
- I want to hand write
1) The key essential questions you’ve identified that are driving your inquiry
How does exposing yourself to nature and “getting off the grid” affect the creative process/writing?
How does being “off the grid” influence imagery poetry?
How does imagery poetry change your perspective on what you see and feel?
2) Why these essential questions matter to you?
I easily know that I am happier when I’m in nature. I want to continue to look into the Mental Health effects it has on High School students especially during a time we are all stressed and indoors. I also am passionate about poetry writing and can document these question in a creative way. This gives you a different outlook on the outside world and the emotional difference of being indoors vs outdoors.
What am I getting out of it
- Author study
- writing practice – I want to continue this in the future
3) What you see yourself doing during the experiential portion of the project to address these questions
- Hikes
- No technology
- Imagery writing through poems to display emotions (my favorite kind of writing)
- The life of backpacking – the planning – the time – but still simple and beautiful
4) The feasibility of what you see yourself doing (i.e., is what I want to do actually doable and if it is not doable how can I refine my idea so that it is doable?)
