My reason for wanting to do something in the social justice area is because I think that helping the world become a more equitable place is one of the most noble pursuits someone can have. One critical incident that helped me realize this was when the 2016 election happened, because it led me to become far more politically engaged and politically active, which vastly changed my view of different topics as a result. I have many resources in my classmates and teachers, not to mention my parents and friends, who I think can all support me in achieving my goal. I discovered this passion simply through helping others and figuring out that it was something I was good at. My purpose is to support so that I can help others have access to what they need. I think I will follow that purpose by doing something that allows me to share knowledge with others, such as a writing project. I think other people will help me achieve that by steering me in the right direction and helping me find the information I need to succeed.
