Reflection
I was definitely surprised with the accuracy of some of the results of the report (my four strengths were Analysis, Learning, Trustworthiness, and Perserverance, which I think is pretty spot-on). I’m still skeptical of a machine that thinks it knows me better than I know me.
I think the two “figuring it out” strengths will play well in the actual content of my project, whatever I end up doing. I want to do something where I am discovering new information and interrogating things that I already believe/know. My “getting along” and “getting it done” strengths will be instrumental in the process, as I will likely be interacting with plenty of people throughout the course (both with advisors and with subjects, as I think I might do some sort of teaching-based project).
I think three of my impact areas (Mentorship + Guidance, Interpersonal Communication + Conflict Resolution, and Media + Information) can cross over nicely, perhaps in some sort of project aimed at teaching people the basics of understanding major world conflicts in our crazy news cycle. To be quote frank, I was not enthused by my impact area of Shelter + Housing. I would much rather approach my Senior Project focused on something like Law + Criminal Justice or Peace + War Relief, as those are just more interesting to me than Shelter + Housing.
