I went to Kalustyan’s as well as Indian groceries around India town (20s on the east side). I went there to get ingredients for Coconut Ladoo. Using dried shredded coconut, milk, homemade ghee, sugar and cardomam powder I made the desert. To make the desert I toasted the coconut flakes to get out the extra moisture, simmered butter to make ghee, added sugar, added milk, added cardomam powder, cooked it all together till it was sticky, rolled into small balls, and covered with more coconut flakes.
