Stella Propp- Critical Reflection #6

This reflection (a double-length reflection) is an in-depth look back at the past 6 weeks in particular, but can also address aspects of Senior Project that took place before the experiential portion of your project. Take your time with these prompts, think deeply, write down responses or talk them through with a peer or adult, and try to answer as many of these as possible, with detail. These questions are designed to help you reflect on your process and also to move you towards an understanding of what you want to share with your audience on Senior Project Evening.

It is so crazy that we are entering the last week of senior project. I remember last year, wondering what this was going to be like. It felt so far away and now, I’m here.

I felt that throughout this project, I did exactly what I wanted to do. In an earlier week, I was talking about how I think my essential question is a bit too straightforward or simple… although I answered it, I am still in the process of rewording it for the purpose of clarity and intricacy for senior project presentation night.

As I said above, I did EXACTLY what I wanted to do. For those who know me, I am usually never satisfied. But, I am confident in saying that I truly am satisfied with my work thus far. I wish I had more time, but am happy with how I did spend my time in these past few weeks.

A challenge I faced toward the beginning was managing my time correctly. I had never had a situation like this before where so much time was dedicated to one thing only. As the weeks went on, I was able to figure my time out and use it well. This has been a good learning experience for me, not just about my business, but about myself as a worker and learner more generally. This time has definitely made me realize that I need to carve out extra time for the things that I love. I want to continue this business for as long as I can. I have already helped so many people in this short time and want to continue to do so and pass the torch onto my younger sisters.

In thinking about senior project night and what I want people to come away with, it goes like this… This time has been so rewarding for me and I urge everyone to use it wisely. I have learned so much and have enjoyed every second of the way. As long as you keep yourself on track and don’t slack or fall behind, this experience will be so rewarding. I was able to almost completely destress and focus my efforts in on one major project/experience. I want people to know a general overview of what I did in these weeks and how I spent my time. I want people to know a little more about my business and who I’ve helped/what I’ve done for them and more. I think making a slide presentation with mostly photos, reflections, etc. will help best demonstrate what I want from these senior project weeks.

I am looking forward to wrapping up senior project and hope that people enjoy my presentation!
