As Confucius said “True wisdom is knowing what you don’t know” and Socrates said “Wisdom is knowing what you don’t know.” This assignment is asking for the story of your personal search for information, as well as what you are learning about the topic in terms of what do you know vs what don’t you know.

    1. What do you know? 
      • Explain what you already know about your essential question. Explain why the topic is important to you, and what is motivating your inquiry.
      • I know marketing is vital for a successful, growing, and lasting company. Marketing is a combination of research, design, and surveying. These qualities are all things I am interested in, and would love to know more about.
        • What understandings and experiences are you bringing with you as you start this research process?
        • I have been working since I was 12. This job experience gives me an understanding but no theory.
        • How have any outside sources informed your understanding of your essential question?
        • My father loves to talk about marketing.
    2. What don’t you know?
      • Why is it important for you to find out more about this question. Tell what you want to know about your essential question? 
      • As I venture to my future careers, having a baseline knowledge of marketing will be important and applicable for every task.
      • What are the areas of inquiry that you think need to be explored? 
      • I want to explore getting certified in google data word entry.
      • What are the other questions that are lurking just beneath the surface of your guiding essential question?
      • What colors and specific words attract customers?
