Here is a 3D SketchUp model of my second assignment for my Design Communication I course. Using the measurements I recorded on my 2D draft, I was able to easily translate it digitally:

This SketchUp model was fairly simple to make and did not require playing around with measurements, angles, etc. It was wonderful review as I have not used the program in quite a few months. I look forward to digitally creating more complicated models that will challenge me in the coming weeks!
Isabella, I wonder if using sketchup to recreate what you had previously done on paper, provided you with any new insights 1) about the assignment itself and 2) about the limits and possibilities that the tools themselves add to this kind of creative work. In exploring questions like “What if …?” and “How might I …?”, it may be interesting to explore how the choice of tools and the palette for expression they provide allow you to more fully capture/realize your vision.
