Now that you’re three weeks (half way) into your senior project experience, are you answering your essential question?
- How are you exploring your essential question; is it different from what you expected? If you don’t feel like you’re answering your essential question, what is happening that’s different from what you expected?
- Are you surprised by any of the challenges that you’ve faced so far? How have you met those challenges and what can you do going forward to deal with them?
- Writing on your essential question: What have you learned about your essential question so far? What further questions do you have? and/or Has your essential question changed? If so, how? What do you want to know more about?
My essential question is: How does living a healthy lifestyle affect someone athletically, and additionally affect other aspects of their life and how does changing a diet strengthen the mind-muscle connection within one’s body? For my senior project, I almost wanted to make myself the lab rat in a way, where I could see all the changes and see how I am answering my essential question firsthand. In all honesty, I am really seeing big changes on the way I live my life. I don’t know if this is what I expected, but it is definitely what I hoped was going to happen, and it is great already finding answers to my essential question, 2 weeks into the experiential portion of the project. I can really see changes on my body. The meals I am eating and the way I am actually treating my body right makes me feel almost more in tune with my body itself. I am seeing weight gain, clearer skin, and overall I feel a lot better now than I did 3 weeks ago. One thing I am really surprised about is truly how hard it is and what it takes to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Previously, I would really just eat whatever I felt like, and now being on a strict diet and having to plan out meals days in advance is very hard. Additionally, working out 5 times a week in addition to a lot of cardio and extra workouts has my body feeling very tired and sore. I am only beginning to scratch the surface on the answer of my essential question and am very excited for the weeks to come.
