My essential question is more directed at private EMS, whereas my project is more directing to questions that I didn’t really know I had about about what it is like to work in EMS full time as opposed to private EMS. The overall experience I’m getting is answering my question about working in private EMS. Over time I have come to realize that I would like this to be one of my sub questions with my overarching essential question being what is it like to work in EMS full time? This transition I believe will allow me to have the experiences that I am gaining guide me rather the question guiding my experiences. In a field as unpredictable as EMS I feel that this is a necessary change and will better allow me to document and have my experiences without being restricted by a question that doesn’t really fit.
As for the challenges, this is mostly what I wrote about for my documentation this week. Those posts are linked below but in summary, the shifting in hours is more exhausting than I had anticipated.
