Describe a moment and analyze: “Write about a single experience or moment, and ask: how does this moment, experience, or encounter relate to my essential question?”
- One moment that really stood out to me was when I was drawing a landscape from life in the park, which is something I have not ever tried to accomplish over a longer period of time. I realized that I had been focusing on this drawing for over three hours and it was just a mess of smudges and erasure lines. I realized that instead of working on one drawing for an extensive period of time I should do multiple drawings in that time-space and thus work more swiftly and produce more light and less committed sketches when I am first learning how to draw from life especially a landscape which is new territory for me. You can also compare it with learning experiences you have had elsewhere, whether in or out of a classroom, at LREI, or elsewhere. this relates to my essential question because I was curious how to most efficiently teach myself an area of craft.
