Key learning goal: Gain a better understanding of certain philosophical topics.
How the project will provide a pathway for me to make progress towards these goals: The translation is of a philosophical text, so it is a way to engage directly with the subject. Moreover, it will require extra research on the side. 

 

Key learning goal: Gain a better understanding of languages and the way they interact with each other.
How the project will provide a pathway for me to make progress towards these goals: Translation is a way to immerse myself in language and dig deeper into it. There are many opportunities to examine as well as experience language’s intricacies. 

 

Key learning goal: Understanding the philosophy of translation.
How the project will provide a pathway for me to make progress towards these goals: The practice of mindful translation as well as the supporting research I will do will bring me closer to understanding the philosophical takeaways we can make about translation.

Documentation plan:

I will document my work by keeping a translation journal which I will devote time to at the end of each week. I will share it typed up as a blog post reflecting on the week’s work and sharing the process experience. I may also focus in on different specific topics each week regarding philosophy and translation.
