Action Item Area: Gym

Reason for Item: I want to be working out almost every day to see the effects these diets have on my body.

Notes: The gym I am currently a part of doesn’t allow teens to be in the gym before 2pm which would conflict with my schedule during the experiential period.

Resolution: I am planning on switching to another gym once the project begins.

 

Action Item Area: People to interview

Reason for Item: I am planning on interviewing 1-2 people a week. I want to interview people who know a lot about fitness and diet to learn more. 

Notes: From people that just take seriously, to people who’s jobs it is to be fit, I want to interview a wide range of people.

Resolution: I will need to make a list of potential candidates.

 

Action Item Area: Nutritionist / Dietician 

Reason for Item: I am going to need to know a lot more about my diet.

Notes: Meeting with / interviewing a nutritionist will be very beneficial to me as they will help me better understand what my body needs and how to help my body in the best way.

Resolution: I’ve looked into it but need to choose a specific nutritionist.

 

Action Item Area: Basketball court/running space

Reason for Item: In addition to working out I will be doing a lot of cardio, and a space to do these is necessary.

Notes: It will not be a problem finding a place to play basketball, because there are indoor and outdoor basketball courts all over NYC. In addition, you can run literally anywhere.

Resolution: This will not be a problem.

 

Action Item Area: 3 Books surrounding nutrition and fitness

Reason for Item: I want to read as many books as possible in order to maximize what I am able to do during my project and to learn more. Reading books about nutrition and fitness will be similar to interviewing a professional, and will give me real knowledge from trained professionals.

Notes: I have found 1 book I am interested in reading but have to continue my search.

Resolution: I need to continue looking to find books that I like.

 

Action Item Area: Budget for food / food itself

Reason for Item: I will be cooking new foods almost every day so I need to worry about where I am getting all this cooking supplies and food itself. For the meals that I am not cooking myself, I will be getting an additional meal plan from online, so I need to find the specific one.

Notes: I know many grocery stores will I will be able to get the supplies needed.

Resolution: My mom is a chef so she will be very helpful in this process and will help me with cooking and shopping.

 

Action Item Area: Daily Schedule

Reason for Item: A daily schedule is an integral part of my project because I will be doing a lot of stuff each day and I need to make sure I am doing everything to the greatest efficiency.

Notes: I have my own schedule in mind but I also want to talk with others and read about effective schedules that maximize the day.

Resolution: I am around halfway through designing my own schedule.

 

Action Item Area: Daily Checklist

Reason for Item: While partaking in each diet, I will be describing and taking down my experience through a daily checklist, where I will see how the diet has effected different parts of my body.

Notes: This checklist will help me remember how each diet interacted with my body and help for me to make my cook book as helpful as it can be.

Resolution: I have many ideas for the checklist but I will continue to research to see more effects diet can have on the body.

 

New Changes:

My project is still staying completely the same, but what I changed is how I am presenting it as my final presentation. I still be attempting multiple diets during the 6 weeks and seeing their effects on my body and the overall effects on my daily life. But now I will be presenting my final ideas through a cook book. I will choose 10-15 (or more) of my favorite meals from the diets I tried and put it into a cook book where I will share the recipe, but also how eating the meal made me and my body feel.
