• Reason for Item: Reach out to one of the organizations again and figure out if they are accepting new volunteers this spring
• Notes: (They had said they weren’t sure if they could accept any new volunteers because of COVID but they said to reach out again when it’s closer to spring)
• Resolution: UPDATE: I am able to intern at the Ravensbeard Wildlife Rehabilitation Center starting the first week back from spring break (week of april 5th)

It looks like the organization I had planned to intern at isn’t accepting new volunteers this spring, so there are still two organizations that I have the option to intern at for senior project. These are the Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, and the SPCA in Poughkeepsie NY. An adjustment I also had to make for my project was changing one of my essential questions since it didn’t necessarily need to be answered by interning, and could be answered through research. To help this problem I’m going to stick with answering my other two essential questions as I believe the only way I can answer them is by connecting directly with professional veterinarians and getting proximate to animals who are need veterinary help.
