The essential questions that I’ve come up with so far are:

  • How do you care for an injured animal so that you can give it the best possible chance when you release it back into its natural habitat?
  • How does a sanctuary/vet office operate? How have things changed due to COVID-19?
  • How do you care for different types of animals, and how do you learn what types of techniques are going to give them the best shot at recovering?
  • Can learning the best methods to use when caring for animals living in NYC (Pigeons, ducks, squirrels), help me to better care for animals on the farm (chickens, geese, geese)?

These essential questions matter to me because I really want to figure out the answer to them, and the internships that I have found would help me do that. I want to learn more about how I can help care for injured animals because I have loved doing that for my whole life, and I just didn’t really have the opportunity to learn from experts in that field. I really want to have the experience of working with those that have gone to vet school and know the best methods in caring for these animals.

  1. That final question offers the richest territory for learning, although some tweaking might be needed. The others are a little more practical, with answers that should be easy to find, rather than offering a path for discovery.
