During the experiential portion of the project, I want to read as many comic books with different art styles as I can to get an idea of the type of comic I would want to make. Even though I already know some comic books that I definitely want to take inspiration from, I would also ask Karyn and James for their recommendations  so that I can discover ideas that I haven’t even considered yet. I want to focus on studying a certain historical event that had a large effect on my family, possibly world war 2, the partition of India, that time period when a large amount of Asians were moving into America through doctor visas (I don’t know what this time period is called), and possibly studying the lives of one of my grand parents. Then, I would like to interview one of my parents about their lives and see how this historical event impacted them, or possibly didn’t. Lastly, I would try to pin point a time in my life where I can identify how this historical event impacted me, all these years later on. I am not 100% sure yet whether I would want to create one larger comic book or 3 shorter comic strips, but I think that either idea would be intriguing and interesting for me to dive into.
