My essential question is how can explore my personal history through the art form of comics. This is important to me because I have always loved to read memoirs and to create art, and I am excited and curious to see if I can combine the two. Some of my learning goals are to learn how to create sequential art and story board, how to weave text throughout my art to create a visual story, and to learn and discover a variety of different comic book art styles. I hope to do this through reading a broad range of graphic novels, learning from James, and doing individual study and creating on my own.  The challenge for this project will be creating a comic, since I have never done that before. Additionally, part of this challenge will be choosing a part of my life to base this comic around, and figuring this out will be part of the process of my senior project. I want to spend the beginning of my senior project (first two weeks, maybe more maybe less) gathering inspiration, figuring out my story, and preparing to start my final work. Then, I plan to the majority of my time actually creating the work I will show on Senior Project Night. I can do this almost anywhere, but I would prefer to work either at school or in my room. Finally, the outcome of this will either be a comic book or a couple of different comic strips that I can share with my community.
