I want to separate my senior project into three distinct focuses that all tie together in the sense that they will all be starting and finishing a new piece of art every day. The first section will be focusing on oil painting, the second will be life drawing, and the third will be drawing the figure. each day I will set a 7-hour minimum to work. a painting every day for my senior project. The idea came to me as it was influenced by my friend who wrote and published a new song every day. In doing this I hope to let go of perfectionism and push the bounds of my creativity. I want to continue to become better in my craft and more free as well. My strengths are spending long periods of time focused on my art and enjoying the process. I am good at becoming better through instruction but also through my own learned experience. I would like the support from my family and the adults I will work with to allow me long stretches of time everyday for undisturbed work. The outcome can not be predicted not should it for that would be nonsensical and completely unhelpful. I would say though that everyday I will spend the designated time curating the art instead of searching for inspiration or reference. The size and subject matter of each piece will not be uniform and will vary in technique and approach. In doing this immersive study of art I hope to widen my own scope of the world through a greater perception of all around me. I also hope that this project may inspire those who also seek creative freedom through practice to put aside the onlooking eye and allow their passion and focus to carry whatever it is that they do.
