Your Story: 

   Choose a “critical incident” that set you on your path and helped you uncover how you want to make an impact (your contribution) through your senior project experience.

As I was reading about medication and prescription prices, I realized that there are many people in need who unfortunately cannot afford to get their prescriptions to help them get better. It really made me realize how privileged I am and how many people are suffering because of their socioeconomic status. As I presented this issue during the presentation in school, Victor mentioned the process of rehabilitation which really caught my attention about how people deal with withdrawal and the medications for it.

Your Strengths: 

   Describe how you uncovered this interest/curiosity/passion (what energizes you) and what you’re good at (your talent).

I’ve sort of had an interest in chemicals and pharmaceuticals since 9th grade chemistry when it sort of came naturally to me. In 11th grade we looked into research papers and I noticed how interested I was in the articles. I really want to integrate those skills and my interest for chemistry into this project

I want to use my research skills and my interest in rehab to research the process of rehabilitation and the different effects it has on people for different withdrawals to further study the effects of drugs.

   Share Your How: How will you deliver that purpose to the world through your Senior Project? What will you do/make?

I’ll try to get in contact with a rehabilitation center and talk to some of their patients who are at varying levels of their process about how they feel and what effects they are seeing of withdrawal

   Give a call to action: How do you want people to help you deliver your purpose?

I’d like to maybe have someone from the science department help me find sources of information as well as assist me in visiting these places and interviewing these people. It’s probably going to be a lot of difficult work but the main goal is to raise awareness.
