My Reason/my story: My “critical incident” was when I made coconut macaroons for my family, and my dad gave them to the manager at his restaurant. He said they tasted great and could see them selling really well if I made 100 of them a week for the restaurant. When my dad told me that I realized that with the money I get from those cookies or any other food that I make, I could really be making a difference for families in need by raising money through my baked goods.
My resources/my strengths: I uncovered my baking talent during quarantine in my third trimester of junior year. I decided to bake chocolate chip cookies one day because I was bored and hungry. After my family ate them all in the span of 3 days, I realized that baking made me and my family happy and calm. I baked things at least twice a week, trying out new recipes almost each time. I’m also good at making other people feel happy and needed, I hope that with my baked goods I can continue this strength of mine.
My result:
My purpose: I hope to make people feel happy and like they can take my support by selling the baked goods that I make and using that money to give to families in need.
How: I will bake as many things as needed each week so I can sell them either through my dad’s restaurant or through another way. I will then search for organizations that deal with families in need of support during this time that I can work with personally, so that I can give them the money I earn from selling my baked goods.
Call to action: I will need help finding a reliable organization I can give the money I earn to, and I will need help finding locations and ways to sell my baked goods. I would also like some helpful feedback and constructive criticism during this process if I bake something that’s not very good.
